SEKONG:- Batu Sapi Member of Parliament (MP) Datuk Linda Tsen Thau
Lin performed the eye dotting ceremony for the Sandakan Hakka Association unicorn
troupe here yesterday.
Before any lion or unicorn can be used the eye dotting or
blessing has to be done. This is usually performed by a high-ranking dignitary.
To empower the unicorn to do its duty, it is brought to life
by the eye dotting ceremony. The tradition was held at one of the oldest
Chinese temples in the State.
The eye dotting ceremony at Sam Sing Kung (Three Saints
Temple) in Singapore Road was also participated by Sandakan Hakka Association
chairman Edward Cheng and other association committee members.
Also present were Head Liaison Officer of Batu Sapi MP
Office Kong Nyuk Thou, members of the unicorn troupe and instructors.
