PUTRAJAYA: The Registrar of Societies (ROS) has yet to receive any
documents from DAP after its new Central Executive Committee (CEC) elections on
September 29.
ROS Societies Management Division assistant head Dasmond
Das Michael Das said DAP had between 30 and 60 days from the date of its
Special Congress to send the relevant documents.
He said the documents were also important for the
purposes of ROS’ investigation into the complaints received regarding the new
CEC election.
“We have received two complaints on their new CEC
election in September. DAP needs to send the relevant documents as soon as
possible so that we can proceed with the investigation. We’ll wait for their
explanation,” he told reporters at the lobby of the ROS head office here today.
Prior to that, Dasmond Das received a letter of complaint
from former Serdang Baru Branch DAP member Yap Kon Min who claimed a lack of
transparency at the party’s annual Selangor State Convention in 2010 saying
even bankrupt members were allowed to vote.
DAP held a new CEC election on September 29 after ROS was
dissatisfied with the way the first one was conducted last December based on
the Societies Act 1966.
However, a mainstream daily reported today that the
Ladang Paroi Branch DAP vice-chairman had himself confirmed he had voted at the
September CEC election despite having been fired from the party on July 2..Borneo
