KOTA KINABALU: Sabah Progressive Party (SAPP) has
once again called for the introduction of Sabah ICs to true Sabahans and
genuine Malaysians in Sabah to overcome the loss of credibility of the
Malaysian MyKads.
Urging this was its president Datuk Yong Teck Lee (photo), while
commenting on the recent serious crimes in Peninsular Malaysia which involved
individuals who are suspected to be dubious citizens with fake Mykads
identifying themselves as Sabahans.
“The shocking AmBank murder and the jewellery store
robbery by armed security guards in Kuala Lumpur who hold Mykads with digit
-12- supposedly from Sabah have once again put a spotlight on the dangerous
crisis of illegals and other foreigners holding dubious documents roaming in
the country”, said Yong.
Commenting on the replacement security guard “Ardi Hamza”
who shot dead the Ambank officer and boldly walked off with the loot from the
bank vault, Yong said that there are hundreds, if not thousands or tens of
thousands, of “Ardi Hamzas” around.
“Many of them have moved to Malaya, which is now facing a
blowback of the consequences of their actions in Sabah.
“The products of the failures of the Federal government
towards Sabah are now a direct burden to Malaya. This is a wake-up call to
Malaysians in Malaya,” said Yong.
He also expressed concern over the far-reaching impact of
the existence of the fake “Sabahans” with MyKads bearing digit “12”, as the
genuine Sabahans who also use Mykads with digit “12” in Malaya now begin to
fall under the dark cloud of suspicions among other Malaysians.
“There is no other option but to introduce Sabah IC,”
reiterated Yong.
The former Chief Minister of Sabah lamented that for
decades, Kuala Lumpur/Putrajaya has failed to protect Sabah’s sovereignty and
security which guarantees were given to Sabah in 1963 to convince Sabah to help
form Malaysia.
He also lamented that in trying to permanently change the
demography of Sabah by flooding Sabah with foreigners, the federal establishment
has literally lowered Sabah immigration barriers, allowed unqualified
foreigners to possess all kinds of dubious citizenship documents and turned a
blind eye to the causes of violent crimes in Sabah...Borneo Insider
