Minister Nancy Shukri said the government is still gathering solid evidence to tender at the ICJ in The Hague, Netherlands.
PUTRAJAYA: The government has no immediate plans to appeal against the International Court of Justice (ICJ)’s decision allowing Singapore to stake its claim on Pulau Batu Puteh.
Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department, Nancy Shukri said although the government had not stated its commitment towards an appeal, it was nevertheless gathering solid evidence to tender at the ICJ in The Hague, Netherlands.
“This process also necessitates getting the assistance of the National Archives to obtain documents and facts to help strengthen our case,” she told reporters after closing the National Law Conference 2013 at the Judicial and Legal Training Institute here yesterday.
She was asked to comment on the call by Pertubuhan Pribumi Perkasa Malaysia (Perkasa) for the government to speedily appeal against the ICJ’s decision made in 2007.
