Sabah Customs start briefing sessions on GST

SANDAKAN: The Sabah Customs and Excise Department has mobilsed its manpower, information technology and infrastructure to brief the people about the Goods and Services Tax (GST) that is expected to be implemented in April 2015.
Sabah Customs director Datuk Dr Janathan Kandok (photo) said the briefing sessions were aimed at answering questions raised by the people before the implementation of the GST.
He said through the briefings, the people would be able to understand the importance and benefit of GST to the people and the country.
“To overcome the concerns of the people, the Customs Department is duty bound to provide as much information, so that the people can understand the actual terms of the GST,” he told reporters after launching a GST awareness programme that was jointly organised with Majlis Perbandaran Sandakan (MPS), here, today.
