SANDAKAN : - Process survey trip for two days despite the inclement weather   did not deter to carry out the census work involving in some villages waterin particular is that urban slum, "said the Director General of the Special Security Area East Coast (ESSCOM)  Datuk Mohamad Mentek.

 

According to him, based on the reports it has achieved its goal when no resistance nor the problem even local residents who cooperate well enough to ESSCOM the first census since the start of operations.

He said the involvement of community leaders also help smooth the census process involving collaboration Police General Operations Force (GOF) and the Armed Forces of Malaysia (ATM) as well as the Public Service Department of Malaysia (civil defense), the Immigration Department; Registration Department and the Health Department.

He said the number of enumerators 171 people, including 102 women enumerators used that accompanied the 258 members from seven departments and agencies state and federal used during the census on Saturday and Sunday where a total of 3,348 homes surveyed covering approximately 16,888 residents comprising three villages Kg Forest  Kg Muhibbah and Kampung Cahaya Baru.   

"In the first day of operation census  we make in Forest witnessed a number involving 7,900 residents of 1,650 homes have also dibanci ... so likewise, on the second day bancian involve Muhibbah and New Light which saw 1,698 homes with a population of 8.930 seramai involving the cooperation of various  State Government agencies    and .federal.

  

"The morning of this , we will continue to survey Kg Mangkalinau expected about 1,500 houses will be involved in the census process. I am satisfied with the process of the census held because based on reports everything went smoothly without any problems, "he said.

Mohammad was speaking to reporters during a news conference at the Meeting Room, Police Headquarters (IPPD) Sandakan, near here.

Elaborating, he said the census was carried out meticulously because the ESSCOM also assisted the Department of Statistics census involves the four selected villages.

He added that the survey is designed to obtain information about the number of houses, population, family and demographic citizens and non-citizens as well as identifying the type of document the existing population.

He said, the details are very important in terms of determining the future of village planning in conducting a census in this time.

It is understood the statistics of the Sandakan Municipal Council (MPS) in 2010 found that there are about 4,500 homes in all affected villages involving 13,000 people.

Four selected in the village census and relocation program in this area is Forest ( Good View ), Kampung Muhibbah, Cahaya Baru  and Mangkalinau.
