SANDAKAN: DAP Tanjung Papat Pusat branch chairman
Frankie Poon expressed concern the titled streetlight and electricity posts at
Trig Hill is endangering public safety
Poon and his aides visited Jalan Trig Hill to get a
first hand look at the situation after receiving complaints from residents and
other members of the public.
“It appears the streetlight and electricity posts are
in danger of toppling and it has already been 12 months the problem has not
been addressed,” Poon said.
According to Poon,
the main concern now is that should it fall onto the road it can likely
hit a passing and the possibility of someone getting hurt if it topples onto
the houses nearby.
He urged the relevant authorities to ensure the tilted
posts are replaced without further delay to prevent any untoward incidents.
Poon said he gathered there were no fewer than six posts
stretching from the foot to the top of Trig Hill in such position during his
visit to the area.
